The Art of the Handwritten Note
From our Journelle purple felt-tipped pens to the first-ever-stationery we picked out for ourselves (one word: unicorns), we've always had a love affair with the handwritten note. Hell, we even love stamps. Whether it's a love letter, a thank you card, true words of sorrow or support, or just a quick note to our BFF to say I LOVE YOU (and isn't this card we found with Tom Hanks on it awesome?), we think that the old fashioned paper letter is an (almost lost) art. Calligrapher and social anthropologist Margaret Shepherd agrees with us. A treatise on the art and pleasure of personal correspondence, we tore through this book (and then went and wrote a whole pile of letters). That's our kind of inspiration.
